Panama City is one of the most international cities in Central America and is very well connected with the rest of the world. Panama City’s international airport, Tocumen International Airport (PTY) has service to South America, North America and Europe. The following are only a few airlines with services all over the world: American Airlines, Delta, Iberia, Panama Air, KLM and Copa Airlines. Our school is just a 20 minute car ride from the airport.

By Bus

Panama City boasts an efficient international bus station: Albrook Bus Station. There are services connecting the city to Central and Latin America. Buses arrive to the upper level of the terminal and city busses can be taken from the lower level. Tica Bus is a popular bus company and has services to and from Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Guatemala and El Salvador.

By Train

Take a luxury train ride from Colón to Panama City. The train takes you alongside the canal and through luscious green forests. The ticket costs around US$22.00 one-way and about US$35.00 for a round trip. The train departs every morning from Colón at 7:15 am and arrives back in Colón at around 5:15 pm. The journey takes a little less than two hours.

By Taxi

Taxis are a very economic and efficient way to travel around Panama City. They do not run on a meter, instead they have specific prices for journeys in-between zones. There is also an extra charge per passenger of around US$0.40. It is not uncommon for taxis to pick up other passengers during your ride.

By Bus

The buses in Panama City are a tourist attraction on their own and are referred to as “Diablos Rojos”. They are privately owned and generally compete for passengers: they have been painted in bright attractive colors. A bus trip will cost around US$0.25 and the destinations of each bus are clearly written across the front of the bus.

By Metrobus

The Metrobus is a line of modern air-conditioned buses. The bus stops have orange signposts and passengers must hold a rechargeable card to pay for each journey, you cannot pay in cash.
